Kimono marana

I had this kimono jacket from Kitbyklo on my sewing to do list on Pinterest for quite a long time and last December I finally ordered the pattern and made it. The pattern is beautifully made and explained with 3 options of customisation : 

  • adding piping, 
  • adding frills at the sleeves 
  • adding a belt. 

I just chosen to add a belt as having 3 kinds of different fabric makes the kimono busy enough and I like very much the length of the sleeves without the frills.  

I had a soft dark navy wool fabric in my stash that I wanted to use for this project but the piece was not big enough for the entire garnement so I associated it with a light blue linen fabric. 

For the belt, I chose to add a bit of colour. I could not resist using a yellow wax fabric that I have used in 3 others projects already (here, here and here
