Penguono jacket

I wanted to find a project to use my blue scraps of yarn. When I saw Nappy knitter post on Instagram, i wanted to do the penguono jacket in shades of blues. The pattern is from West Knits and it is very fun to make : alll the part are assembled while knitting so when you bind off the…

Spring crochet cover

I have been going to a craft group that meet up every Tuesday evening in different coffee shops around Belfast (see the group Facebook page) and for the first time this winter, we had organised a CAL.  We all brought a copy of Mollie makes issue 74 to make a crochet cushion cover. The pattern by…

Wedding blanket

At our weddings, my family had asked all the guests to come with a bottle of wine and a ball of wool ! Such a great idea !  All the wool was different – different colours and different quality- and I wanted to keep it all together in a project that would remind us of…

2 bandanas = 1 shawl

It is still quite cold and stormy in Belfast in February so I knitted a comfy and warm shawl to wait for spring to come.  I really liked the design for the “say wool be there” bandana but I knew it was going to be to small as it is and I would never wear…

Aime comme météore

I was planning to do another vogue dress using a soft jersey but then I came across the aime comme météore dress on Instagram and I changed my plan.  The dress is fairly simple : the original pattern has a zip in the back. However the fabric I had chosen is strechy so I did…

Amélie dress

Another Christmas present that was given to me was the kit to knit the Amelie dress from wool and the gang.   The dress is so confortable. It is however a bit see through so I wear it on top a black top and a pair of black jeans.

Même pas froid

My sister offered me a really nice knitting kit for Christmas. The kit is from Peace and wool and it is to make a giant snood. I love the colour she had chosen : a beautiful green !  It is knitted with 15mm needles and the finished snood is super warm !

Patchwork placemats

With the left over blue fabric to some of the project I had made, I seen two placemats following the instructions in Mollie Makes issue 74.  It was the first time I used the patchwork technique in a project.  The explanation said that the template square should be 13×13 but if I make more placemats,…

Kimono marana

I had this kimono jacket from Kitbyklo on my sewing to do list on Pinterest for quite a long time and last December I finally ordered the pattern and made it. The pattern is beautifully made and explained with 3 options of customisation :  adding piping,  adding frills at the sleeves  adding a belt.  I just…

Embroidered advent calendar 2016

The French website Artesane had a fun protect in December : make a embroidered advent calendar !  At the end of November, they published the trame of the calendar that was composed of 24hexagons. And then every day in December they published a little motif to fill up one hexagon. I have chosen a blue and white hexagon fabric…

Pom-pom clutch

I added some pom-poms to the Lil’ hold tight clutch from Wool and the gang.  I really like the woven stitch : it feels so sturdy.  I also had a strap from on old broken bag that I can reuse with it !

Vogue dress from the moon

Together with the Satisfaction coat pattern, I bought the Vogue pattern from Louis Antoinette Paris to make a little dress for the winter.  The fabric is again from Fabworks online.  I had my eyes on the “dark side of the moon”fabric. When their bundle sale on instagram featured this fabric, I got it. The fabric is…
