At our weddings, my family had asked all the guests to come with a bottle of wine and a ball of wool ! Such a great idea !
All the wool was different – different colours and different quality- and I wanted to keep it all together in a project that would remind us of our wedding day. A blanket seems an appropriate choice.
At first I wanted to do each squares all different stiches however, I resolved doing only three different stiches to give the blanket some unity : cable stich, bobble stitch and rice stich.
It was great fun to make. My mum had knitting my wedding dress and I used the wool that was left from my dress to make two more squares.
After assembling the whole thing I sewed a piece of fabric at the back but I did not like it so I will leave it like that instead
What a fantastic idea and a wonderful keepsake full of memories

I love your wedding dress , made by your mum , double lovely and the blanket is superb, I thought from the opening sentence the guests were knitting a square whilst drinking the wine , but your blanket has turned out so much better than that would have!

Bon week-end,
Amitié,
Thali
